Kansas Medicaid and Private Insurance Reimburse for Telehealth visits
Kansas reimburses for telepsychiatry and other disciplines + a separate facility fee (Q3014)
On May 12, 2018, Kansas Governor, Jeff Colyer signed into law a bill that defines telemedicine and telehealth and sets guidelines for coverage parity. The law requires private payers to cover telehealth services, but leaves it up to them to establish their rembursement policies. The law also allows coverage for telehealth under the state Medicaid program. With the passing of this bill, telehealth services can also be used for visits with a speech-language pathologist and an audiologist, something that hasn't happened in Kansas before.
