New Hampshire Reimbursement for Telehealth
This is an exciting time for telehealth in New Hampshire. Medicaid and Commercial insurance plans will reimburse for Telehealth visits. This also includes the state employees health plan and recent law cjanges have expanded the scope of allowed telehealth programs and will even allow for patients to be in their own homes and receive treatment.
In 2019, New Hampshire updated its laws to expand the scope of telehealth services that would be allowed. According to mHealthintelligence media, the new updates include more covered services from more providers, not just specialists and even adds the patient's home and other non health care locations as "originating sites". For more information, see the article from August 2019 here.
Having the patient's home as an originating site means that one can provide psychiatric or other services to patient in their own home and the session will be covered. This will go along way to increase access to those patients who have a hard time getting to their appointments for whatever reason.
